JINX STUBBS
Painter of Decorative, Folk and Fine Arts

The daughter of an avid painter, Jinx Stubbs had the advantage of learning to draw and paint early in life. As she grew, so too did her love of art. Home schooling led to more formal and individual classes, until finally she found herself in the role of teacher.

Her desire to grow as an artist led Jinx to co-found the Southwest Area Artists art club in Omaha, Nebraska in 1967. There, artists of all disciplines and walks of life could learn and develop their artistic skills by exchanging fine art technique, holding workshops and group shows together. From an initial group of thirteen, the group quickly grew to become one of the most recognized artist groups in the metropolitan area.

More recently, Jinx opened Sunflower's Child studio in Moultrie, Georgia to teach decorative painting classes. She also continues to create decorative and folk art projects, pastel portraits and paintings in ink, pencil and watercolor under the Studio 214 label. Her line of greeting cards featuring a variety of floral and wildlife, as well as some of her portraiture can be seen in Georgia and Illinois.

Jinx is a member of the National Society of Decorative Painters. Her mastery of styles and media has grown to include acrylics, oils, watercolor, pencil, pastels, and pen and ink.
